It all started in the late 50s when grandparents Filippo and Mentana opened their bakery. In 1965, their daughter Maria and her husband Gastone decided to take over the business, focusing on cakes and pastries. This was the beginning of the legendary Pasticceria Le Perle, in Lido di Spina (FE) in 1976. It's still a favourite destination for Emilia Romagna's foodies.
Grandchild's childhood and adolescence are infused with the aromas of fresh bread, croissants and custards: having completed their studies, the family passion take over and, in 1987, they begin thier adventure in the fascinating world of chocolate in a small laboratory in Forlì.
The name they choose for their company – "L'Artigiano" – is an indication of how they intended to present themselves on the market.
Over the years, the company has grown considerably, and their artisan products are now found in specialist shops not only in Italy, but also in the rest of Europe and the United States.
Time goes by but thier passion is still the same, maybe even greater: the chocolate is studied, tasted, and moulded, obtaining unique and inimitable forms and flavours.
