The story of the Cao bakery began in the 1940s when its very young founder, Attilio Conti, left Valmalenco to work as a delivery boy for the most prestigious bakeries in the town of Sondrio. When he reached adulthood at the end of the Second World War, he decided to go into business, and in 1966 he bought what would become his artisan oven in Ardenno, just outside Morbegno.
And so the family business, Panificio Cao Conti Attilio, was founded, and in 1992 became Cao Luigi, Ezio & Michele snc. < br/>Today it is Attilio's three sons who run the business, each with specific tasks and professional skills: Luigi, Ezio and Michele not only guarantee the quality of their products by using only the best ingredients from reliable suppliers, but produce them using innovative technologies that are consistent with their tradition as bakers, ensuring maximum hygiene and safety. This advanced, state-of-the-art production system results in products that are meticulously manufactured and optimally packaged to retain the highest quality.
In 2012 the firm received the sought-after award "Artisan Excellence of the Lombardy Region". The only company in Sondrio to receive the honour.
