For six generations, master confectioners at Di Carlo have put all their skill and creativity into the preparation of confectionery, including their beautiful "Fiori di Sulmona" sugared almond flowers.
The secret of these products' goodness lies in the family's exclusive suppliers of Avola almonds, Nocciola Romana DOP hazelnuts and other exceptionally high-quality ingredients. The confectionery is completely gluten-free and therefore suitable for sufferers of coeliac disease: some Di Carlo products are listed in the handbook of the Italian Coeliac Society.
Particular attention is also paid to the creation of packaging; besides the classic tins, the firm offers more modern packages in line with market demand.
Tradition, then, combined with an openness to continuous research and innovation, also evidenced by the firm's collaboration with several Italian universities: William Di Carlo is a promoter, among other things, of the EC procedure for granting IGP quality certification for Sulmona confectionery.
The company currently exports 50% of its products all over the world through specialized stores and selected supermarkets, subject to specific distribution agreements.
William De Carlo's challenge today is to continue to produce these high quality delights, drawing on family tradition on the one hand and new trends in an ever-changing market on the other, thus ensuring the development of both the firm and the Sulmona area.
