The care and dedication that goes into making our 100% Aglianico del Vulture Rosé wine, from vineyard to cellar, has inspired the name Sagaris, mentioned in one of the few Greek epigraphs as oikonomos (manager) of the agricultural land of a noble Venusian Roman family dating back to 2nd-3rd century A.D. Fresh, harmonious and elegant, with distinguishing notes of cherry and strawberry. Excellent as an aperitif with the most diverse seafood and land appetisers, it also goes well with seafood and white meat first courses.
Wine growing and makin: Grapes from the Piano di Camera vineyard (sub-zone of Calvino) and the 500m high-altitude Montalbo vineyard. Harvesting by hand The skins undergo cryo-maceration for about 7-8 hours, and fermentation takes place at temperatures below 18°C. The wine is matured on fine lees with repeated bâtonnage, and bottled after a light filtration.
Behind every Madonna delle Grazie wine lies a story of hard manual labour, fatigue and passion.
