Capo Ferro red wine is made exclusively from Cannonau grapes taken from two different sapling vines, which are 30 and 35 years old, located in the Oddoène valley, in the Dorgali area (NU) of Sardinia, within the Gennargentu National Park.
The vines are located at different heights and their soils differ greatly from each other: decomposed granite on the lower lands and limestone higher up. The grapes, cultivated according to non-certified organic farming standards, have different organoleptic characteristics due to their varying types of soil, but they share the same yield per plant,
just 1 Kg.
It is a clear wine with a beautiful intense ruby red colour yet not too concentrated, typical of Cannonau grapes processed in purity. In the glass it is consistent and smooth, withabundant and tight tears that denote the product's alcoholic content.
In the mouth it is fruity, warm, soft and balanced, with a moderate and fine tannin in line with the structure of the wine. Its strong acidity and minerality give it freshness and soften the imposing alcoholic structure making it elegant and easy to
.A richly flavoured wine, complex but not demanding, caressing and harmonious. Its "young" character suggests a long-lasting wine, which will become more and more appreciated in the years to come.
The perfect accompaniment to any traditional Sardinian or Mediterranean appetizer based on cold-cuts, vegetables preserved in oil and patès. Pasta dishes with tomato-based game sauces, grilled meats and spit-roasted Sardinian pork. Perfect with semi-aged Sardinian pecorino cheese and traditional carasau bread.
