"CastelGiocondo's unique location in Montalcino, with its varied exposure and terrain - galestro, clay and Pleocene sands - give this Brunello its infinite nuances. A multi-faceted experience that evolves over time and entices us to discover, taste and remember, again and again."
Vinification and aging: great care of the vineyards, combined with the typical characteristics of this unmistakable terroir, result in an outstanding harvest. The Sangiovese grapes are harvested by hand and subjected to a scrupulous selection process when in the cellar. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures with frequent pump-overs, particularly during the early stages. The wine is then aged in wood, where it can mature, refine and develope balance.
CastelGiocondo Brunello is ready to go on the market 5 years after harvest and only after further aging in bottle.
Tasting notes: CastelGiocondo Brunello 2015 has a deep ruby red colour. On the nose it boasts distinct aromas of berries and cherries in alcohol. Cinnamon, tobacco, mint and tea leaves come together in a very complex aromatic picture where each component alternates without dominating over the others. The wine envelopes the mouth, with velvety tannins that give it a creamy consistency. The alcoholic component is well balanced by fresh balsamic notes and mineral sensations. It has a long lasting finish, typical of the greatest CastelGiocondo vintages.
Behind every Frescobaldi wine beat the hearts of the people, agronomists and winemakers who work closely with the vineyards and the terroir in capturing its very essence.
