The Pegoraro winery began in Mossano (Vicenza), in the heart of the Berici Hills, in an ancient 13th century convent, now a farmhouse and cellar.
The family-run company, highly experienced after years spent among vineyards, barrels and bottles, has moved with the times to bring wine spaces and technology up to date. All stages of production are monitored personally, from work in the vineyard to wine making and bottling. This is combined with increasing research and a growing choice of environmentally friendly and wine-friendly methods.
Vineyards evolve in the heart of the DOC Berici Hills. A small pearl in the heart of vibrant Veneto, with vines and olives as far as the eye can see, leaving a little space here and there for forests and fields. A land highly oriented towards winegrowing, an activity which produces a variety of wines due to the soil composition and microclimate, to offer both simple, elegant and robust, decisive wines. The native wine par excellence is Tai Rosso, until recently known as Tocai Rosso. This is still a little-known wine but the company truly believes in it. Its history is closely intertwined with those of Sardinian Cannonau, French Grenache and Spanish Garnacha, and in Vicenza it has found a particularly well-suited environment, hence its individual yet typical flavour. Classic Tai Rosso has an ample and distinctive bouquet with cherry, raspberry and spices which take over the senses. Its fresh aromas delight, with delicate tannins and an elegant aftertaste of almonds and rosa canina. A reserve version is also produced. In this case it has an intense, full flavour while maintaining its fine and elegant profile. Two sparkling versions are also available. A charmat sparkling wine with its fresh and fruity notes emphasized, making it a delightful wine for aperitifs or for serving with a variety of mild-flavoured dishes. A classic zero dosage sparkling wine. Structured and elegant, full and creamy, it is not typical of its kind, making it a very special and intense-tasting wine.
