Azienda Agricola Luretta was founded in 1988, the idea of a wild cattle farmer, who, after having travelled through France's wine regions, collecting the flavours, fragrances and bottles, decided to settle in this area of Val Luretta, considering it the right place to try to put his idea into practice: to produce an international quality wine.
Three years after the first harvest, Felice Salamini and his family bought more land all over the province, and developed his wine-making method.
The family vineyards have been completely revolutionised, while new lands have been prepared according to the most modern wine-growing theories, following the family's idea of a clear and intransigent organic project.
Since the year 2000 Luretta has been certified as an organic producer, controlled by the ICEA certification body.
The character of the wines is mirrored in the names given to them, inspired by literary images and the fine imagination of Felice's wife, Carla Asti.
In 2002 the farm settled in Momeliano Castle (11th century), housing the wine-making and ageing cellars and tasting rooms (the cellar is open every day, including Saturdays and Sundays, for visits and tastings).
Luretta now dedicates about 70 hectares of land to wine-growing and organic production.
The production of grapes currently averages 50-60 quintals/ha, and a yield of 65-70%.
Around 250,000 bottles per year are produced.
