Malanotte takes its name from the old medieval village of Malanotte, in the Trevigiano area. In the seventeenth century, the Malanotte, a noble family of Trentino merchants, relocated to the area, giving a great impetus to local viticulture. The only DOCG of the Piave area, it is an intense wine made chiefly from Raboso grapes, a native grape already grown in Roman times. Thanks to progress and the technology that is now involved in wine making, it has been possible to lessen the intensity of its wild nature, and to enter a new era of rediscovery. Intense and caressing in the mouth, it goes well with game and mature cheeses.
Cantina Rechsteiner produces quality Venetian wines with a respect for tradition and with the help of modern technologies.
