"The strong passion for the land, nature, wine and his dreams led Stefano Banfi to start an incredible adventure in 2012: ""La Rocchetta"". ""A long-established winery in the municipality of Mondondone, Codevilla (Pavia), which today I hope is taking on new life and changing shape."" ( Stefano Banfi) From ""Rocchetta"", situated at 320 m above sea level, on clear days you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Po Valley up to the Alps: from Mount Monviso to the Bresciane Alps. The project aims at respect for human health and the environment as well asthe production of quality wines through making very particular choices: from planting the vineyards to different forms of vine training and pruning, to the harvesting of the grapes and their transformation into wine. The old but tough vines are arranged using contour plowing techniques; the altitude varies between 320 and 450 m above sea level with different exposures and terrains. Environmentally-friendly practices, a range of targeted cultivation operations, soil management, planting grass between the rows and mulching, as well as the thinning of the grapes, if necessary, mean a maximum yield of 800 kg of grapes. ""I live at the farm, and for this reason too I am happy to welcome curious people, whether they are wine experts or not, any time for a walk among the vineyards, in the cellar, to taste my wines perhaps accompanied with tasty bitesize delicacies typical of our land. And to hear some stories! ""concludes Banfi. "
