Rivetti & Lauro began life by bottling wines with a strong, modern character, in order to tell the world of the passion and history of their land: the Valtellina. Wines that come from the DOCG zones of Inferno, Sassella, Valgella and the Tirano area.
The vineyards of Valtellina, Italy’s largest terraced mountain wine-growing area – the land that produces Nebbiolo, a superb grape variety for a noble and precious wine – speak of centuries of history and tradition. This tradition is the starting point for the introduction of new farming techniques in harmony with the mountain environment. New grape varieties are grown, whose fruit can be combined with the quality and generosity of Nebbiolo, and even enhance it.
Only with great work in the vineyard can great wines be created.
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and placed in crates from which the best bunches are selected. The aim is to maintain the homogeneity of the product in accordance with the source vines. After careful sorting, the grapes are vinified in small containers and the resulting must is aged in French oak barrels, tonneaux and barriques. The flavours and characteristics of the wonderful land can be found in Rivetti & Lauro wine.
