Made from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo has a characteristic cherry colour, known as cirici, cirice or cirasce in the local dialect. Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC is very different from rosés made in the rest of Italy: fresh, due to the right amount of acidity – which is normally between 5.5 and 6 grams per litre – and with a good alcohol content, ranging between 12 and 13% vol.
