Prosecco DOC Treviso is one of the best known and loved Italian wines on the international wine scene. It has been cultivated for several decades on the gentle, sun-kissed slopes of the hills north of Treviso on clayey, dry and shallow soil. Vinified "in white" by soft pressing, it is produced using the Martinotti (Charmat) Method with slow refermentation for at least 45 days at a low temperature. With its 11° proof, straw yellow colour and greenish hues, it has a fine and lingering perlage. Its fresh taste initially expresses a sweet and soft note that later gives way to a more acidic finish. Prosecco DOC Treviso, served at a temperature of 6-8°C, is ideal as an aperitif, accompanying appetisers and fish-based first courses. It goes well with cream desserts and fresh fruit.
